CONFERENCE: Psychotherapy in the Therapeutic Community
The Open Psychotherapy Center, the Institute of Group Analysis (Athens), the Institute of Psychodrama – Sociotherapy and the Organization of Community, Psychodrama and Sociotherapy Therapists are co-organizing a Conference on the topic:
“Psychotherapy in the Therapeutic Community”.
The purpose of the Conference is to inform and raise awareness of both mental health specialists and the wider public on the models of Therapeutic Communities, as the most appropriate therapeutic framework for either mental disorders or addiction. Emphasis will be placed on therapeutic procedures that focus on the mobilization of the healthy part of the Ego, on the reconstructive process and on the permanence-stabilization of changes.
The Conference includes theoretical presentations, discussion groups and experiential workshops on topics such as therapeutic planning according to the therapeutic needs of each patient, the need for the existence of specific sociotherapeutic and psychotherapeutic programs and the importance of the corresponding training of mental health professionals, the conditions that make community therapeutic schemes viable and effective, etc.
