Who suffers from dementia? Patients and caregivers

On March 30, 2019, the Open Psychotherapy Center organized a workshop on the topic:

Don’t Forget Dementia. Who Suffers from Dementia. Patients and Caregivers

Disorders classified as “dementia” are characterized by the appearance of multiple cognitive and functional deficits and require specialized care. Therapeutic interventions for dementia are divided into those aimed at the patient and those aimed at caregivers. Since caring for a person with dementia greatly affects the caregiver and has significant consequences for the functioning and dynamics of the family, we will focus on therapeutic interventions for caregivers. These value group approaches and provide effective tools, aimed at maintaining a good quality of life for both the person with dementia and the caregiver, as well as the functioning of the entire family.
