Training in Group Analysis

European Certified Psychotherapeutic Training Institute

The training is provided by the Institute of Group Analysis (Athens), in collaboration with the Therapeutic Sector of the OPC. The duration of the training is four years and is addressed to individuals who are professionally related to mental health (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, etc.).

The entire training scheme operates in the form of a Training Community. After the end of the Training, graduates can become diploma members of the  Institute of Group Analysis (Athens). They also meet the requirements for obtaining the European Psychotherapy Certificate according to the formal procedures of the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).

The Training includes:

  • Personal therapy, before and during the Training, in a mixed, therapeutic Group Analytic Group.
  • Intensive theoretical seminars.
  • Teaching work: Coordination of seminars, theory, as well as supervision groups.
  • Clinical practice in an appropriate psychotherapeutic enviroment, throughout the duration of the Training.
  • Individual and Group-analytic Supervision of the therapeutic activities of the students.
  • Participation in the community activities of the Training; Sensitivity Group, Symposia, training meetings and organizational activities.
  • Research-writing experience; writing of a Short Paper.
  • Preparation of a Diploma Thesis.
