Introductory Seminar in Group Psychotherapeutic Approaches and Psychological Assessment

The seminar on Group Psychotherapeutic Approaches and Psychological Assessment introduces participants to the psychodynamic and sociodynamic concepts of the group, as they are used in therapy (adult, child, family and couple), as well as to the basic concepts and techniques of assessment (Psychological Assessment of children, adolescents, adults, couples and families). It is aimed at mental health professionals, health service administrators, lawyers, educators, special educators, as well as students of Medicine, Psychology, Pedagogical Schools and Technological Educational Institutions (TEI), but also at non-specialists who are interested in being informed about the relevant issues.
Duration
It consists of twelve three-hour meetings, held weekly (Monday, 7.00 to 10.00 p.m.), from November to February. It includes a theoretical and empirical part.
Theory
- Group Analysis: Theoretical concepts and clinical applications.
Therapeutic factors of Group Psychotherapy. - Psychiatric Communalism. Therapeutic Community.
- Sociotherapy: the importance of action in psychotherapy.
Basic principles of Psychodrama. - Clinical applications of Group Analytic Psychodrama. Groups of Adults, Young Adults, Adolescents and Children.
- The Group Analytic Approach to Family Therapy.
- Family dynamics: Healthy and dysfunctional families.
- Basic concepts and structural characteristics of Psychological Assessment.
- Comprehensive assessment of minors, adults, couples.
Experiential Part: Small Groups and Experiential Workshops
- Small Experience/Discussion Group: The group consists of 10-12 people, has two coordinators and progressively defines its own goals. It operates by combining the group process with psychodramatic techniques or expressive and creative activities (play, art, etc.).
- Large Group/Sociodrama: All members of the Seminar participate in a Large Group, in order to become aware of the psychodynamic and sociodynamic aspects of the phenomena of Large Groups.
- Presentation of clinical cases and comprehensive assessments.
Group Analytical Supervision. - Technique of Family Analysis, Genogram, etc.
